Major Mishima was a Japanese officer in charge of the Joint Test Flying Evaluation Squadron during the development of the ASF-X Shinden II program for the Japanese military.

History

Prior to his involvement with the ASF-X, he was a flight instructor at Komatsu Air Force Base where he trained Nagase as a fighter pilot. Members of his squadron would regard him as a tough individual, but also as fair and reliable. He was the first person to fly the ASF-X prototype but later became a supervisor of the squadron and stopped flying afterwards.
