Australia
The Commonwealth of Australia is a nation comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania and numerous smaller islands. It is the largest country and regional power in Oceania. It is briefly seen in Ace Combat Infinity during Kvasir's history lesson to the Butterfly Master.
History
At some point between 1994 and 1999, Australia was selected to be the site for the Type-2 Stonehenge.[1] In theory, its position here could give a majority of Oceania and Southeast Asia covered.
However, when the Ulysses Disaster struck, the Australian states of Victoria, New South Wales and parts of South Australia and southern Queensland were severely damaged by meteorites.[1] The capital city of Canberra and the major cities of Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne were well within the impact area, though its unknown how damaged their infrastructure was.
Trivia
- The large amount of meteorite impacts in the New South Wales region is likely a reference the famous Colony Drop in the Mobile Suit Gundam series, which occurred in the state capital of Sydney. A difference is that the impact in Infinity covers the whole state, not just the city.
- Australia is the birthplace of Viper, the leader of Bone Arrow Squadron.[2]
